i need some advice from all the pros.. i have a 2004 crv, i just installed i have 2 headrest tv monitors, 1 dvd indash, sub and amps.  my amps is 600 watts. i have the rockford cap hooked up also. now my question is. is the cap enough? i used odyssey 680mj, do i need a seperate battery for the cap/amps? 3 months ago, i changed the batter twice and one alternator, but back then i didn't have the cap. and in minnesota it was cold..

thanks

you only need to add extra batteries if you are running alot of amps and more than several subs. the cap is designed to discharge quickly for those bass hits when your amp is drawing the most amps.  the caps will charge back up quickly as to take the strain of the cars electrical system. a good standard is for every 500 watts of bass amp u need 1/2 farad cap.  i usually use a 1 farad cap just to be sure. for a set up like mine which is 3-10" kenwood excelon subs each one on has it's own 1,000 watt amp will definitely be running a second battery, a 50 farad cap and have a 250 amp alternator upgrade.  if you only have the 600 watt amp using one 1 farad cap should be fine. have you had to change anymore batteries since you changed the alternator? u could have had a bad voltage regulator in the alternator.  i hope this helps.

thanks for the reply. i haven't had to change battery or alternator since i installed the cap. dudes at circuit city said my set up are fine, don't need anything else. he said the headrest monitors doesn't use to much power. we'll see if my car will start ok when it's 30 below in minnesota this next winter.
