is there a way to increase the value of a battery isolator by strapping them together? I need to be able to run about 400 amps of power through my system to keep up with the draw from my system. would a battery rectifier work better?

I have a 400A draw also, and I just added a couple of 1250A batteries. There's still the ONE 700CCA in the front to run the engine, a 165A alternator (OEM came with the '04 Tahoe)with a 240A isolator that feeds both and keeps the two 1250A's nice and topped off with little problem.
I use the 400A to run a 5000W continuous / 10K burst rate AC inverter and a 1200W linear amplifer, and a transmitter with native 180W. No problems in four years..
