GM BOSE Alpine pxa-h701

Is there anything special about the gm bose head units in 03 chevy avalaches as far as sound quality or is it just another delco radio with backward sound processing? also, does any one know of a company that makes just a raw single slot cd player(no am/fm or anything else)that would be ideal for mobil audio?the signal would be sent directly to an alpine pxa-h701 sound processor. (with the controller)
