i want to run a 1200w mono block amp with a 12" SPL subwoofer, how do i set it up so its 1 ohm? subwoofer wiring directions?

i was wondering if it could be wired to 1 ohm... not to familiar with this.

It is not a 1 ohm sub and wiring it up so will damage the sub, but it is 2 ohm stable.

oh i *** wiring it 2 ohms, would that be series or parallel? so confusing haha

series would drop it down to 2 ohm. But u also have to know at what ohm your can power it to rms specs
|

okay, i just got it installed at a shop. hits pretty hard. i'm not sure if they wired to 1 ohm or 2 ohms, but it rocks.

THAT IS GOOD FOR U.1OHM COULD DAMAGE THE SUB LATER ON.BUT BUT IF U LIKE MY FRIEND U WILL BE THINKING ABOUT ANOTHER SYSTEM B4 U BREAK THIS ONE IN.HAPPY SUBBING

I have 2 dvc 2ohm alpine type r's. Can you wire them at one ohm. the amp i have is 1ohm stero so it is fine. Please help me out if you can.

Ohm's Law dictates that with that Dual 4 ohm subwoofer the only two scenario's are: 1.) SERIES - 8 ohm load, not what you want for your setup or 2.) PARALLEL - 2 ohm load, which while not 1 ohm will get you plenty of power out of your amplifier.

Sorry, but again as Ohm's law and speaker wiring basics will show that you cannot get 1 ohm from two 2 ohm DVC subs. Your only combinations are 1.) 8 ohms, which is everything connected in series. 2.) 2 ohms, which is a series-parallel connection. or 3.) .5 ohms, which is everything connected in parallel. It's basic electronics 101 and there's alot of websites out there: www.the12volt.com and www.BCAE1.com which explain this in depth and have a calculator on the site that you can plug your setup into and will tell you what combinations are available.
