2004 ram 1500, I do believe that it is the stock alarm. the alarm doesn't work properly. It all started when i disconnected the battery for some reason and when i reconnected it the alarm would go off. I used the reset button to stop the alarm so i could drive without attracting too much attention to myself but now the alarm will not go off when say, i rool down the window set the alarm and reach in unlock and open the door. nor does it pervent me from starting the truck....any possible solutions?

The key fob remote still works, meaning that i can lock and unlock the doors as well as hit the panic and that alarm will sound. I have tried just removing the power from the alarm and disconnecting the relays as well as holding the reset button until my finger cramped...

it sounds to me that you have a factory upgrade alarm. if the factory key fab locks and unlocks the doors then the factory is working fine. factory key less entry's do not have reset buttons nor starter kills. there is an aftermarket alarm or aftermarket key less upgrade that is installed in your truck. if you have found the brain (module) then get a make and model number and seek out a manual for it.
