Polk SR6500 and alpine ex-10

Hey guys 2 questions..first, what are your opinions on the ex-10 ipod adapter, i got it for 70 bucks at a liquidation...im reading some bad reviews on it, but i would be hardwiring it so hopefully it sounds better.

also, the SR6500's i picked up for 230!!! anyway, they were the display set but the tweeter is built into the cone right now right? since they're components you just separate the two apart when you install right?  I know it's a newb question but I'm worried i got scammed and they left out the tweeters cause all i see are HUGE crossovers and the cone with what looks like a tweeter inside it.
