First time hardware help!

Hi,
I just puchased my first car, the 07 toyota matrix and would like to upgrade the sound system. I have no experience with audio components, so I thought this would be the best place to get some advise for my setup. Im not too big on the bass so I dont think I require a subwoofer, but I do want to change the deck and the speakers. Im willing to spend around 500 for the hardware (the car has four 6 1/2" speakers right now)

If you're not big on bass then leave it alone. If you're going to upgrade then upgrade. Don't play with yourself.

Im beyond heavy bass and rattling trunks, I like to enjoy quality sound. I can always add a subwoofer if the speakers are not sufficient

Well, if that's the case, I would go with MB Quart. However, I wouldn't spend $500 on it. Look at ebay.
