Hi, The last system I had consisted of 4 door speakers and two 12-inch subs. The subs were JL Audio 12w6. The door speakers were Pioneer. I have decent highs and mids in my new ride. I Can't buy new 12w6s'. Those subs were from 1991. Jl only makes the V2 now. Does that mean I'm getting old? Anyway I hoped for some advice. I havent heard many new subs. New technology. I would like the same quality of sound. I don't want to ever compete in db drag or spl. I like my hearing. I still have a little at my age. I would like to go with a different brand than JL Audio. Any sugestions

jl subs have awesome sq but have a price, if you used to own w6's those are serious subs, i would look into boston acoustics, pioneer premier, re audio, breyma and memphis has really great subs for the money or if your lucky some old school atomics would be great for sound quality at a lower price than jl not that they are better, but for the money not to shabby. I recently came across 4 old school rockwood 15" subs with paper cones, before their stuff started looking like pyramid! and they actually sound pretty decent just goes to show you if you shop around and set a price range for yourself you have plenty! plenty! of different options.
