I have a 2007 new body style Silverado crew cab With an alpine CDA 9887, Two Kicker Comp VR 2ohm 12" subs (bridged down) powered by a Fosgate TB1001D 1000w amp 4 farad cap. optima yellow top and 6 recently installed alpine Alpine Type-R 6 1/2's I have done 95% of the work mentioned myself, my problem is that after upgrading the door speakers and installing two custom, the sound is not crisp as I had hoped.... the truck did not come with a factory amp for the speakers.........with the upgraded 6 1/2's should I be running a separate amp with my current setup
.......please help!!!!!!

( I don't know if you needed to know all that detail but I figure it might help)

Well considering that you installed six speakers instead of the traditional four, I'm assuming your head unit is splitting the load, resulting in loss of noise quality/volume. I would definitely recommend getting a 4 channel amp for your situation.
