What is with Alpine and there out of date mapping for the blackbird? my unit has been out of date 3 minths after i bought it and i have been asking Alpine for over one year and keep getting the same lame answers, we know there is an update coming, we just can not say when it will be available!!!!!
I see they have new GPS units, and I know the maps are new, why would they choose to screw all the previous customers with units that are not even out of warranty? Apline USA says my Blackbird should not even prompt me about getting an update?
My unit has been asking every time i turn it on to call for an update, very frustrating!!
Has anyone else have this problem?

Im there with you. My 200 has been asking me to update mine since I got it. I work at an Alpine Dealer here in Wisconsin and they are even jacking me around and not getting me my updates. Maybe there is something they just aren't telling us anymore or just want to kill off this unit and stick with just the in-dash units. Never knowbut I am trying and i will let you know when I find out whats going on.

I can't even get my unit to work when docked with my iva-205.  What's worse, the external dock stopped working altogether.  Alpine service just keeps saying, make sure its fully charged.  No kidding!  I'm stuck with a unit that only works when undocked and unplugged.  Useless!

well, i did find out with several phone calls and several emails and im not just talking about 6-7 more like 30-40 and i have got the answer. NOTHING IS COMING
from what i get from navteq is that they have there mapping updated every 4 months which is available to alpine, they have just chosen to put the new maps and software in new units and beyond navteq's belief obviously the software has not been made compatible with the B-200, left behind.
Dont give up, if you purchased your unit and were sold on the fact that it was upgradeable, as i was, then hold them to it.
Most people give up, the squeaky wheel does get the grease, unfortunately the wheel sometimes almost falls off !
